Donatella Civile

Donatella Civile grew up in Holland, where she went to grammar school and studied Italian language and literature. When she was around twenty she went to Italy, where she was admitted to the actingschool of Genova (Italy) ‘Scuola di Recitazione del Teatro Stabile di Genova’. She started her career as an actress in Italy -I’m completely bilangual-, where she worked with Fausto Paravidino, Serena Sinigaglia and Guido Chiesa. Around thirty she turned back to Holland, where she continued her work as an actress and started writing her own plays as a theatremaker. With her play “Hand of God’ (dir. Helmert Woudenberg), she was on a known festival the ‘Parade’ (2008) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZaWaNA-Dus,
she won the third price with her text “Womenfolk” on Hollandse Nieuwe Festival 11 of MC theatregroup, she got a nomination as a best actress on 48hoursfilmfestival A’dam (2010) and she was chosen to do a workshop with Thomas Ostermeier for the Biennale of Venice (dic. 2010).
“Erotic Blues’ is her forth play and she is wiling to continue and explore writing.
